UF Health Shands 24/25 Burn Unit Renovation
This 36,890 SF renovation was located in the occupied UF Health Children’s Hospital. The project involved the construction of 27 private patient intensive care rooms, four state-of-the-art hydrotherapy rooms, two respiratory therapy rooms, two isolation rooms, and a rehabilitation area. The exterior masonry of the project was removed and replaced with curtainwall allowing each patient room to have dramatic views of the UF Health campus. Each patient room in the unit includes a private restroom, patient lift system, examination lights, and supplemental radiant heaters. The 24/25 unit cares for burn injuries, severe skin disorders, chronic wounds, and ENT reconstruction patients.
