Winter Haven Senior High School
The 50 year old campus of Winter Haven Senior High School was in dire need of a wholesale renovation, which it got starting in 2007 with the opening of a new food service building. Built in the heart of campus, construction required careful planning to ensure the safety and separation of students, faculty, and staff.
The renaissance continued in 2010 with the demolition of the school’s original administration building and media center, which paved the way for a new 2-story building (33) to house administration and media arts. While still underway with Building 33, the next phase, which required demolition of 11 buildings, began. In their place, two new 2-story classroom wings were constructed. A varsity locker room and softball complex also began construction at this time.
Construction of the final phase began in early 2011, which was the school’s ninth grade academy, a 2-story building, designed to house the school’s freshman class. It is noteworthy that the school remained occupied throughout all phases of construction.
