Completion: October 2009In 2009, the City of Newberry was awarded funding from Alachua County’s Tourist Development Council, along with a grant through the Easton Sports Development Foundation, to construct the multi-purpose Easton-Newberry Sports Complex.  This 19,000 square foot building is home to the Easton Foundation’s Archery Center as well as the City of Newberry’s Parks and Recreation Department.

The building includes a state-of-the-art archery facility that provides instructional classes for youth and adults, as well as training for international Olympic archery teams.  The indoor range features 20 archery lanes, shooting to 25 meters.  The facility also includes an adjoining full-size basketball / volleyball gymnasium, fully operational concessions stand, classroom space, and administrative offices.

Outside, the sports complex boasts a practice field for archers that includes a 160’ covered shooting area.  The practice field is used for youth programs and tournaments with shooting distances of up to 90 meters.
